  The Kwara State Government has disclosed that the Kwara Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL) Project will address climate challenges, boost food security and improve the socio-economic lives of Kwarans. The State Project Coordinator, Kwara ACReSAL Project, Alhaji Shamsideen Olatunbosun Aregbe, stated this while featuring on a live radio  interactive programme in Ilorin, the State Capital.   In line with the implementation of the Component C of the Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi Arid Landscape (ACReSAL) project which aims at strengthening Institution and Project Management, His Excellency, Governor AbdulRazaq AbdulRahman of Kwara State has commissioned and presented keys of 3 Toyota Hilux to the 3 ACReSAL core Ministries in the State.  The exercise took place during the week at the Kwara State Government House, Ilorin the State capital.   In furtherance to the visit to the six selected communities ahead of the plan to establish nurseries for planting economic and valued trees for the benefit of Kwarans, the Kwara Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL), today paid an advocacy visit to the palace of Onijagbo of Ijagbo land, Oba Buhari Adeniyi Sharafadeen Ilufemiloye I, for a rapid take-off of the project implementation in the state. Alhaji Shamsideen Olatunbosun Aregbe, the State Project Coordinator led a team of staff of the the State Project Management Unit (SPMU) to Ijagbo, in Oyun Local Government Area of Kwara State. The World Bank has praised Kwara State for its dedicated interest in the execution of the Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL) project. The commendation was given by the World Bank Task Team Leader for ACReSAL and Senior Environmental Specialist Dr. Joy Iganya Agene, during a three-day working visit to Ilorin, the state capital. Dr. Agene, who expressed gratitude to the state government for the warm reception, stated that the visit was aimed at fostering a robust relationship between the state and the World Bank. “This collaboration is intended to enhance the unmitigated implementation of the ACReSAL Project in Kwara State,” she said. The Kwara Agro-climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscape, today welcomes the World Bank team and the Federal Project Management Unit led by the Task Team Leader ACReSAL and Senior Environmental Specialist, Dr Joy Iganya Agene to Ilorin, the State Capital. The guests were welcomed in a grand reception at the Major General Tunde Idiagbon International Airport, Ilorin by the Hon commissioner for Environment, who doubles as the Chairman State Steering Committee of the ACReSAL Project, Mallam Sheu Ndanusa and the Co- Chairmen of the project , Hon Commissioner for Water Resources, Mallam Lade Musa and Hon Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development, Mrs Oloruntoyosi Thomas.
