KWACRESAL: Gov AbdulRazaq Commissions 6 Vehicles ...as project donates 3 toyota hilux to line Ministries.

 

In line with the implementation of the Component C of the Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi Arid Landscape (ACReSAL) project which aims at strengthening Institution and Project Management, His Excellency, Governor AbdulRazaq AbdulRahman of Kwara State has commissioned and presented keys of 3 Toyota Hilux to the 3 ACReSAL core Ministries in the State. 

The exercise took place during the week at the Kwara State Government House, Ilorin the State capital.

ACReSAL is a World Bank assisted project with the mandate to address challenges of land degradation and climate change in the 19 Northern States, including the FCT and Kwara State.

Speaking during the commissioning, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq commended the effectiveness of the project in the State, reiterating that the vehicles will accelerate the implementation across different communities.

The Governor, therefore, tasked the ACReSAL team to utilize the vehicles judiciously for the success of the project.

Giving the Vote of thanks, the Commissioner for Environment, Hajia Nafisat Musa Buge, who is also the Chairman of the State Steering Committee of the Project appreciated the State Government, the World Bank and the State Project Management Unit (SPMU) for the gestures, assuring that the vehicles would be used to enhance the project’s effectiveness.

Earlier in his remark, the State ACReSAL Project Coordinator, Alhaji Shamsideen Olatunbosun Aregbe  said that all hands are on deck to paddle the project towards the  achievement of the Project Development Objectives (PDO) which will help to enhance and boost environmental sustainability, people's livelihood and food security in the state.


The Project Coordinator reiterated that the five Hilux Vans and 1 SUV  were purchased to enhance and aid the oversight functions of ACReSAL as part of commitment towards a successful implementation of the project in the State.

Among the top government functionaries who graced the event were the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Prince AbdulKadir Mahe; Senior Adviser and Counsellor Sa’adu Salau;  Commissioner for Water Resources Usman Lade;  Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development, Mrs. Oluwatoyosi Thomas; Special Adviser to the Governor on Special Duties, Alhaji Abdulrazaq Jiddah; and Management staff from the line Ministries.
