Kwara ACReSAL Welcomes the World Bank Team, FPMU To Ilorin on a 3-day visit. ... *_commends for the warm reception._



The Kwara Agro-climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscape, today welcomes the World Bank team and the Federal Project Management Unit led by the Task Team Leader ACReSAL and Senior Environmental Specialist, Dr Joy Iganya Agene to Ilorin, the State Capital.

The guests were welcomed in a grand reception at the Major General Tunde Idiagbon International Airport, Ilorin by the Hon commissioner for Environment, who doubles as the Chairman State Steering Committee of the ACReSAL Project, Mallam Sheu Ndanusa and the Co- Chairmen of the project , Hon Commissioner for Water Resources, Mallam Lade Musa and Hon Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development, Mrs Oloruntoyosi Thomas. Also, on ground to receive the august visitors were other members of the Steering Committee and the Technical committee members of the project.



The visit was to foster a robust relationship between the state and the World Bank so as to enhance an unmitigated implementation of the ACReSAL Project in the State.

While presenting his welcome address, the Commissioner for Environment, Hon Shehu Ndanusa said the ACReSAL project will not only improve livelihood of the community members but to also boost agriculture productivity and restore degraded Landscapes in the state.

He lauded the World Bank Team and the FPMU for showing great interest in Kwara communities and assured them that kwara SPMU is ready to deliver on its mandate for the sustainability of the project in the state.

In her remarks, the Task Team Leader, Dr. Joy Iganya Agene, who could not hide her joy for the warm reception received, commended the Kwara team for showing keen interest and unwavering enthusiasm in propelling the project execution.

She seized the opportunity of the visit to confirm the appointment of the Acting Project Coordinator, Alhaji Shamsideen Olatunbosun Aregbe, as the Substantive Project Coordinator of Kwara ACReSAL project.

The Project Coordinator, Alhaji Aregbe, who could not hide his joy, appreciated the World Bank and the FPMU for the opportunity to serve in that capacity promising his unalloyed dedication and commitment to speed up the ACReSAL Implementation activities.

Part of the welcome activity is a cultural display by the Kwara Art & Culture Group and a technical meeting with the Authorizing Environment of ACReSAL Project in the state
