ACReSAL, MARD To Achieve Team Objectives.


In its effort to strengthen the multi-sectorial approach to achieving its objective for the development and growth of the state in the three sectors, Kwara Agro- Climatic Resilence Semi-Arid Landscapes team (ACReSAL) meets with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) on its Terms of Reference.

The review meeting is aimed at  cross-checking, making necessary corrections and amendment in the prepared TOR by the Kwara ACReSAL to fit in for the State's project.

The meeting was held today at the Ministry's conference hall.

Having in attendance the Directors and Professionals of the Ministry who all actively participated in the deliberation to share their views and opinions in the Terms of Reference for the execution of ACReSAL activities under the agricultural sector.

The Agro-Climatic Resilence Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL) Hybrid implementation Support Mission was flagged off today in order to kick start the World Bank project implementation in the selected states. The Mission was declared opened by His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kano State, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, OFR ably represented by the Secretary to Kano State Government, Alhaji Uthman Alhaji. The Mission was held at Al-Murjan Hall, Bristol Palace Hotel, Kano State with participants cut across the Northern states and FCT for the project. Dr. Ganduje appreciates the World Bank for bringing up such a project in time when it been needed most, as well as commending the project organisers in making Kano the host state. Kwara ACReSAL State Steering & Technical Committee Holds Quarterly meeting* … __Chairman urged team on robust and good working relationship_

The State Steering and Technical Committees of the Kwara Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscape (ACReSAL) held their quarterly meeting at the Ministry of Environment headquarters in Ilorin. The Commissioner for Environment, who doubles as the Chairman, Steering Committee of the ACReSAL Project in the State, Mallam Shehu Ndanusa Usman, while presiding over the meeting urged the State Project Implementation Unit (SPIU) to build a good working and robust relationship with the committee members in order to enhance a seamless, efficient and effective project implementation in the state. Mallam Ndanusa said the discussion would provide an opportunity for the State Project Management Unit (SPMU) and the committee to interact  with a view to be briefed on the project activities, their level of execution as well as offering useful contributions towards actualizing the project’s objectives. World Bank, NCRS, train ACReSAL Technical team on Application of GIS for sustainable landscapes Management

As part of efforts to ensure holistic landscapes management, the World Bank in collaboration with the National Centre for Remote Sensing (NCRS), Jos, Plateau State, has organized a five-day workshop to train ACReSAL Project technical officers on the application of Geographic Information System (GIS) and Remote Sensing Technology for sustainable landscapes management. The Five-Day Workshop is taking place from July 18th to 22nd July, 2023 at Steffan hotel and Suites, Rayfield -Jos, Plateau state has in attendance the Kwara State ACReSAL Technical team. The ACReSAL Project Implementation Manual (PIM) specifically identified training in catchment Management structures as one of the priority investments in watershed management.
